Statistically, Hillary Clinton had an 85% chance to win on election day morning. However, in one of the most stunning upsets in presidential election history, Donald Trump became the 45th President of the United States of America. Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election because of her numerous scandals, Donald Trump’s plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, and his ability to connect with white working class voters in the Great Lakes Region.

As the primaries were happening, the FBI was investigating Hillary Clinton. In July 2015, The FBI announced they would not recommend criminal charges, despite FBI director James Comey stating that “there is evidence that they [Secretary Clinton and her colleagues] were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.” Clearly, while no criminal charges were pursued, Hillary Clinton was at fault for sending classified emails on a personal email server. This was another blemish on Hillary Clinton’s already dwindling public image. However, this was not the end of the FBI’s involvement in Hillary Clinton’s email server. A week and a half before the election, James Comey sent a letter to Congress stating the FBI was reopening the investigation because new emails were discovered during an investigation of Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin. This is evident by Hillary Clinton stating days after she lost the election that “our analysis is that Comey raising doubts that were groundless, baseless, proven to be, stopped our momentum.” Most importantly, the scandals of Hillary Clinton being covered ceaselessly by the media led to voters deciding that Hillary Clinton was corrupt, dishonest, and untrustworthy, therefore, not deserving of their

An example of an issue that is time and time again riddled with disinformation and propaganda is the US Elections. Obviously we know how fake news infected the Trump v Clinton election this past year, swaying voters opinions and arguably altering the end result, but this is not a new occurrence. Only the past September former US president Barack Obama warmed Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerburg about the danger of fake news on Facebook, and understandably so. Obama has been the victim of false allegations and news stories ever since he first ran for office in 2008, when a photo from his Muslim half-brother's wedding began circling the internet. This was all that was needed for allegations of Obama's "secret Muslim faith" and people began questioning whether he was even an American.…

At a public forum in December, a questioner confronted Clinton and asked whether her comment also applied to her husband’s accusers. “I would say that everybody should be believed at first,” she said, “until they are disbelieved based on evidence.” On Wednesday, Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon said in a statement: “After his disastrous debate performance and his sexist attack on a former Miss Universe over her weight, Donald Trump is now trying to deflect by going after Hillary Clinton about her marriage. “While Trump and lieutenants like Roger Stone and David Bossie may want to dredge up failed attacks from the 1990s, as many Republicans have warned, this is a mistake that is going to backfire.
