Nominal Level Data Analysis

Computer exercise one and two Nominal level data was identified based on the parameters that it is mutually exclusive and exhaustive. It cannot be ranked but it maybe assigned a number such as one or two for classification purposes Burns, Grove, Gray (2013), Using the bladder study provided in SPSS, nominal level data were identified as, education level, ethnicity, zip code and marital status. Two modes were identified from the nominal level data. For ethnicity the mode was African American (n = 54), for education the mode was completed high school (n =30). Thus there is no significant difference in the mean between white and African American participants accepting the null hypothesis. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to test the hypothesis there is a difference in the mean of IV volume infused by ethnicity. A ratio between groups and within groups reflects an F (5, 93) =.211 which is small suggesting there is no significant difference. The p value is (p =.957) > .05 therefore, there is no significant difference in the mean of IV fluid volume based on ethnicity. Therefore the null hypothesis is accepted which states there is no difference in the mean IV fluid volume based on ethnicity. A bar graph was completed to visualize the distribution of ethnic groups. African American is the mode, identified by the tallest bar which is lies between 50 and 60.
