That it is a respect to civil right issue. Ted Olson explain that we are damaging these people (LGBT), because we are discriminating them for wanting to be happy with their partners. These people can be our doctors, lawyers, and teachers, but yet they can’t be recognized together as a married couple. David Boise brings a good point about the constitution. Bill explain how the people in California voted against same-sex marriage. He questions Boise on how he was going to explain to those people that the decision they made was wrong. Boise explain to Bill, “If you didn’t tell the majority of the voters they were wrong sometimes, under the constitution, you wouldn’t need a constitution. I had written a speech about this topic in my speech class about Prop 8 and DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act). This issue was very serious to me because I am all forward for same-sex marriage. I had went into a deep research about this Prop 8 and what damage would have cause if it was not proven to be unconstitutional. In the video it explain that there was no live video about the case unless you were there to see it. I actually watch the reenacting video that where done for this case to have a better understanding. In the video Olson and Boise explain about how people wanted to wait on making a move on same-sex marriage until they got more popularity. I agree what they had said about waiting and waiting until there ready and wondering when it will ever be ready. The longer it was push to the side it gave more reason to give the court a chance to not really care about the topic. In the research I had done about Prop 8 was the way the crowed acted about this issue. It just surprise me on how far people can go for what they want without giving up.
