Jared,

I think that God has a sense of humor, and that is why you and I are both officer's in The Salvation Army. We are created for his amusement, "not really!" I agree with with it is honoring to work with others. It is so easy by nature to work alone, especially, in this individualistic Western (American) society we live in, which perpetuates individuality. I can attest to to the work that God has done in your to make you a better leader, and I am privileged to work along side you in the ministry. (96

Good morning, today I was asked to talk about the talk by Bonnie L. Oscarson of this last conference, and explain my feelings towards it. I read the talk and felt that we as young men & young women should give more service to the church. In the talk by Bonnie L. Oscarson, It stated, “Each person has something important to contribute and has unique talents and abilities that help the important work along.” The abilities that we as young women have help the service to spread like a weed. The big change that has helped spread this weed is the prophet just pronounced that 14 and older are now able to start ministering.…

In today’s society, people are swept up in the wrath of being too prideful, or become greedy. These deadly sins deaden our religious life, causing us to distance ourselves from God’s path. Everyone must dig deep into their spiritual lives, and lend a helping hand to those who need it the most. Whether it’s simply having a conversation with a homeless person, donating money, or volunteering at a daycare for the destitute children, these charitable acts can make a huge difference in someone’s life. My service learning experience was an eye opener for me, and it made me realize how privileged and blessed I truly am.…

My overall goal in life is to wake up every morning and not dread going to work. I want to be able to face a new challenge, help others, and make a difference no matter how big or small. I want to take pride into what I do and not just think of my job as an action to survive. I believe it is difficult to do so in a scene where a good handful of people do not give you the full respect deserved. In the article “Congregation Gone Wild”, G. Jeffrey MacDonald claims that Congregations have shifted their way of approaching their audience in order to “sooth” churchgoers and keep them on their side.…

Benevolence It is Christmas morning, so you wake up and your is heart pumping with excitement to look under the Christmas tree for your presents. When you arrive your heart fills with much despair because you find nothing there. Unfortunately, this happens to kids all around the world, some of these kids may go to your school. Consequently, every year, as a tradition my grandmother gathers up all of her grandkids and we volunteer at the Salvation Army Intake Center encompassed with her church. I continued to look for a place to serve more in and help more people but I could not find anything that really interested me. I think this is my greatest accomplishment as a leader because even though I was a young student he saw a leader unlike many adults that normally think kids should be put to smaller tasks.…

As a minister, I feel it is my job to communicate, in word and deed, the unchanging Gospel to the modern generation in ways that help people to understand Christ clearly. Early on in my Christian walk it was apparent to not only me, but also to those in leadership roles within the church – elders, ministers, etc. – that there was a call upon my life to enter the ministry. I was quickly taken under the guidance of the lead Preacher in my local…

This is a great reminder to do hard work to honor and please the Lord, and show my co-workers that I am living out my life in obedience to Christ. These are practical ways in which one can show and demonstrate Christ to others. If I do not have honesty and integrity at work, then my testimony of being a believer in Christ will not be accepted. I am grateful for the co-workers the Lord has placed in my life, and I am going to be more relational to them so that I can have an even greater testimony to them. One practical way I can do this is to bring in breakfast and serve them from time to time.…
