This is not luck the salvation army has reached out to all corners of the world, from Iowa to Taiwan and everything in between. Before you donate to any other charity consider this. The salvation army has a very wide variety of different causes you can put your money to, and the salvation army is not hard to find. Which means no matter where you are at there is a good chance you can hear someone ringing a bell this time of year. The salvation Army Has a good tradition way to raise out of pocket money, officers are uniformed and the charity is very organized, they do nothing short of creating miracles, and they have a good past. The founder being William Booth. Booth is also the man who started the uniforms, he said “we are a volunteer army” so in 1878 the uniforms were made so that people could also trust that they didn’t give their money to thieves/conmen. Now what does the officer, who wears thee uniform do? An officer is to give a helping and when necessary, spread the word of god and teach it to the world, also an officer is to help others overcome hardship. Becoming an officer is not just a two-day thing either, one must complete the two-year training school. Once completed the new officer will receive a local assignment, and are always told “just remember, fight with love” But it is not just officers that do the work, a lot of time it’s program its self that tends to be at the right place at the right time. John Potter the leader of the salvation army food bank, is a follower of Christ and has help many suffering people. Now 5 years ago I couldn’t say that. Thanks the salvation army and one gallon of milk, John went from the Nickname “Lucifer Jr.” to a child of Christ. John traveled the country on his motorcycle one gas tank to another.
