How would you feel if you were accused of something you didn't do? In Arthur Miller's play The Crucible many people are accused of witchcraft and witchery and put on trial. Some who were accused were even killed Although this play is set in 1692 this could still happen today.

During what is known as “The Salem Witch Trials”, people in the town of Salem, Massachusetts were accusing others of witchcraft and wizardry, even their friends. They did this for many reasons, envy, rivalry or just to save themselves from being accused. This, of course, still happens nowadays in our society. People wanted to keep their reputation clean. “Excellency, I have signed seventy-two death warrants; I am a minister of the Lord, and I dare not take a life without there be a proof so immaculate no slightest qualm of conscience may doubt it.” Hale didn't want to believe the the girls were faking it because he already signed multiple papers sentencing innocent people to death.
