It was the year of 1629, neighbor was turning in neighbor and panic was spreading everywhere. No one knew who to trust or if they really knew the people they thought they knew. What caused the Salem Witch hysteria? Well an exaggerated or uncontrollable emotion among a group of people who lived in Salem Massachusetts. 19 people were hung and 1 pressed to death because they were accused of practicing witchcraft. The main reasons the Salem witch trials happened was based on the bias views of their age, gender, and marital status, another factor was because of two young lying girls, Betty Parris and Abigail WIlliams, and town division.
