The Salado People Essay

In this report you will learn a lot about how the Salado people played games in their spare time. There are so many fantastic games that they played in their time that we are now playing in today's societies. Some of these games that we still play are horseshoes, wall darts, and dancing. These are just a few of the many games that they play, but we play them a little differently. We adjusted the rules and the object of the original game.
Today, same of us play some type of sport or game, but have you wondered where these games came from? Most of the games or sports that you play today, came from ancient people hundreds of years ago. Some of these sports have been evolved a bit, but not a lot. of them have been. One of the popular games they played was Pa-tol sticks; this sport is very similar to Javelin today. This is just one of the many sports we play today that came from the ancient people long ago. Other sports they invented lacrosse, hidden ball, double ball, and chunky. The first one is Ullamaliztli. This game, you have a court and a hoop on it’s side hanging from a wall. The goal of this game is to get more points through the hoop than the other team. Another game that I really thought was interesting is Patolli. This is a game that has a board and needs beans or rocks. To play this game you throw the rocks or beans, on the board. Who ever gets the most beans on the x shaped board wins.
Not only did they play a lot of sports, but they also played a lot of games as well. Pretty much all of the games that they played, everyone of all ages could play. The kids played them the most because they didn't do much else. Yes, they had chores to do and help out around the household, but they played most of the time. The adults and elderly people also played the game, but not as much because they had a lot more things that the had to
