Stereotypes And The Dangers Of School Bullying In Schools

School uniforms have always been a hot topic for everyone, teachers, students and parents that they often have different view points on. Because the issue directly affects the safety of students from all ages, nobody can make a choice solely on personal opinion, facts have to be used. According to a recent study conducted by Raymond Fench in long beach, California, “after a two year uniform policy in k-8, assault and battery in district schools decreased by 34%, possession of drugs went down, robberies were down and vandalism was lowered” (Procon.org) . The statistics all point out that having uniform is beneficial to all students and faculty. Because, the bullying that happens when students dress to what they feel like will be eliminated. The stereotypes of people based on their clothing will be gone and not be judged therefore making student feel better. Schools as a whole have to make tough decisions that may not be easy, but when it comes down to the safety of all children, decisions have to be made such as imposing a school uniform that while may be received with criticism. With uniforms, studies has shown that upon implementation, the events like these occurring have dropped by a large percentage.
