At Daisy’s Campground, safety is of the highest priority. The lack of knowledge and experience could not only injure an employee but possibly a customer as well. The top three major safety concerns is the restroom facilities, the storage and handling of chemicals, and the use of power tools. These three topics have been identified by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as areas of concern for employers and small businesses.
Restroom Policy
Campground restrooms are more enhanced in comparison to average office bathrooms. Daisy’s Campground restrooms consists of the average office bathroom but includes showers and lockers. The increased accommodations create more safety hazards and potential risks to injuries.

Storage will be essential in ensuring only those authorized has access to the chemicals to prevent misuse or wrongful dis-posal. Authorized employees will be responsible in reviewing the policies and specific handling instructions for each chemical.

OSHA provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for all chemicals that lists hazards, prevention methods, first aid, and other viable information that is beneficial to users (Witt, 2015, pp. 104-105). This will be stored with the chemicals to provide easy access. A requirement en-forced by OSHA is to ensure that all chemicals are clearly label (Witt, 2015, p. 104). The OSHA website provides a seven step process to transition to a safer chemical workplace which identifies an accurate inventory as a key step (Occupational Safety and Health Administration, 2016).
Blood-Borne Pathogens
Improper chemical use does not pose a threat as blood-borne pathogens. Chemicals can cause physical harm to an individual but is not related to the transmission of disease or virus.

Maintenance personnel are responsible for the continuous operation of the pool, buildings, lawn, and camp sites. These various locations require different tools and equipment that involve knowledge and skill. Training and mentorship will allow new employees to become experienced and avoid safety concerns.

Each location will have signs posted presenting possible threats that are associated with that site. Employees will be responsible to adhering to these signs and enforcing it on others. Providing employee checklists with safety cautions will assist in the reduction of accidents.

In the case of blood-borne pathogens, employees will have an issued uniform that will pro-vide protection for the body excluding the extremities such as the hands and face. First Aid Kits are posted at various locations that can be used in the event of a safety mishap that involves bodily flu-ids.
