The Rubber Band: My Catapult Band

My Catapult works like a third class lever. The base of the catapult acts as the fulcrum which the catapult arm pivots on. In this catapult the tension of the rubber band creates the effort. The rubber band is attached to the crossbar and the arm. When the arm is pulled back, the rubber band stretches, so when the arm is released, the arm propels forward until it his the crossbar. The load acts as the marshmallow which is the projectile. When the arm hits the crossbar, the marshmallow leaves the the small compartment on the arm of the catapult and launches forward. This is because of Newtons first law which talks about how objects in motion want to keep the same motion. When the arm is realeased the marshmallow is moving at the same speed as
