Tupac Shakur was born and raised within the ghettos of America. He faced many hardships and hard times in his early life. His only escape of his environment was to write poetry and create music. “Did you hear about that rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?” is a metaphor comparing himself and the ghetto to the rose and the concrete.
