“We humans are an extremely important manifestation of the replication bomb, because it is through us - through our brains, our symbolic culture and our technology - that the explosion may proceed to the next stage and reverberate through deep space” (Dawkins). Dawkins explains how the human race has the potential to advance to the next level of intelligence by using the knowledge Gathered over time. So what is holding the human race back? What is the force that is stopping humanity obtaining the knowledge it needs to advance. What is blinding the world? Religion.
Richard Dawkins The God Delusion and his Documentary The root of all evil? Gives an in depth look at the idea of religion. In the book, Dawkins argues that religion and morals does not have to come from one another. He claims that people are actually delusional. For instance, he offers a quote as an example: “when one person suffers from a delusion it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called religion.”(Dawkins 31) This shows that the mindset of a lot of atheist. However, Joey and Chris Rios make a similar point in their research on the Christianity faith. They argue that their blind faith in god is nonexistent. They believe that they know god is there for them. They say, “When in doubt, do nothing, but continue to wait on God. When action is needed, light will come” (Faith 64).
