Education In The United Kingdom (UK)
To compare and guess the differences and similarities between countries off of stereotypes just because it seems to fit is not true knowledge and understanding. Although kids take the front to hating school, many go to infinity and beyond when it comes to education in England. England’s education system is well known for its higher education standards which brings many people from all places on the globe to England to get top quality education. Every student sits on the floor, youngest at the front and oldest at the back. As the children come into the main hall for the assembly, they are all silent as they listen to the music that 's being played. Every week, the musical themes are different, and the students are asked to listen out for particular things. What happens in an assembly? In the assemblies, the children listen to a story, sing a song, and pray. Stories are from the Christian Bible or a story that has a moral. The songs that are sung are particularly chosen with the children in mind. Some songs are even sung in the English sign language. To cater for the children of different faiths, not all of the assemblies have a Christian theme. The purpose of these assemblies are for us to gather to celebrate the achievements of our children and of the school as a whole. Although every parent has the right to remove their child from any assembly, not many do. There is now an hour and fifteen minutes before lunch time. The first fifteen minutes may be spent giving the children their weekly spelling test, times tables test or used for mental math. The children will then have a Literacy or Numeracy lesson before Lunch time. While the children are waiting to have their lunch or after they have finished eating, they play games in the playgrounds or attend lunch time clubs. There are Midday Supervisors who look after the children during Lunch time. Teaching staff are also on hand to help out and supervise. Teachers take it in turns to be on duty during lunch times. This is to ensure each and every childrens safety.
After lunch and playing on the playgrounds the lessons then continue with reading activities. Reading activities could be the class as one or each student individually. Once the reading session of the class is over the rest of the day is dedicated to learning other school subjects that could include Science, gymnastics, arts and crafts, computers or history. These lessons last until it is the end of the day which is at 3:15 when the children then go
