Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck is a book about two migrant workers in California. This book has a few violent scenes throughout. Arguably the most violent scene is when Curley provokes Lennie. Is violence ever justified? I think there is certain situations where violence is justified . In Of Mice and Men there is a situation where violence is justified, when Curley and Lennie get in a fight. Curley provokes Lennie by punching him multiple times. George shouts “Get him Lennie”(63). At first Lennie is hesitant, saying “Make ‘um let me alone, George”(63), but George keeps shouting “Get him Lennie”(63) until lennie finds the courage to fight back and end the fight. Lennie’s use of violence was justified and Curley’s was not. A real world example
