Trickster Animals in Native American Folklore Native American folklore is the beliefs, myths, or stories of Native American tribes. Folklore or the act or story telling is used to teach lessons, to help cope with the world, or to explain the origin of something. Often times folklore contains animals that are used to represent trickster. The tricksters are sly animals that device fellow animals for self gain.
