Is technology truly helpful? There is technology all around us, and we use it in our every day lives. Things such as: cars, computers, phones, even lights are considered technology, but is technology truly helpful? This is a question that will vary from person to person. Truly technology is for the better of mankind it was never intended to make peoples lives worse. It is not that it makes peoples life physically worse it is that it makes them morally worse such as it takes away from peoples beliefs and gets them away from nature. This is the reason that it brings up the question, “is technology truly helpful?” There are many different views on this such as: it gives people a better chance to live longer, or it takes people away from morals and nature, and it makes things much faster and more productive. These are just a few viewpoints but they are very important in determining whether technology is helpful or not. Technology has opened the gate for many other things to be created. One main viewpoint that supports that technology is helpful is that it gives people a better chance to live longer and healthier. One example of this is in the book “Brave New World” when the world state first gets a glimpse of Linda and how she has naturally aged. “Why is she so fat?”(Pg202) “Look at her teeth!”(Pg202) She is old fat and ugly, compared to the people of the world state who are in shape and seeming to have skipped the aging part of life, “old, young? Thirty? Fifty? Fifty-five?” (Pg004) no one can tell his or her actual age, is this truly possible?” A new procedure can quickly and efficiently increase the length of human …show more content…
