The annual suicide incidence worldwide is about one million. The suicide method varies greatly around the world, but in the United States, self-inflicted gunshots are a leading method of choice. From 1992 to 2002, approximately, 60.6% of male and 35.7% of female suicides in the US were attributed to firearms. In some Asian and South American countries where firearms are not legal to possess, the main method of suicide is pesticides. A mentally stressed or troubled person should not have a free access to firearms. Multiple studies have found that suicide victim who committed suicide did not do it out of the blue, but tried to ask for help from health care providers before committing suicide at least a month prior to attempts and suicides (Hassamal et al., 2015).
