Instead of a 6 or 7 inning game, have several 3 inning games. The idea is to have as many walk-ups as possible be able to play a game of baseball with your organization.
Inform the local media of the event ahead of time and let your social media followers know in advance. Raise awareness for youth baseball and healthy living altogether. Partner with local businesses, especially in the food and drink industry, to be at your event. Maybe even those businesses can turn into sponsors.
Promote youth baseball and your organization at the event. Have some skills stations around the field. Set up a home run derby competition or have a base running contest. And most important, let the kids have fun!
To really spice up recruitment, implement your referral program and offer a free clinic to anyone that attends. Who knows- maybe the next Mike Trout or Andrew McCutchen will walk right up to your event and play baseball in your camp.
