According to Oxford Dictionary of Contemporary English, satire is "the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the content of contemporary politics and other topical issues."The word satire has so many tricks, such as parody, irony; burlesque and etc .The satirist subjects are unlimited. In satirical texts, not only the content but also form is equally important. Most satires, except a few ones are socio-cultural, religious and political specific, which need careful consideration and there are different ways of translating them according to situation. As it was mentioned, satires are mainly cultural and political specific, therefore they are not easy to translate and some common manipulative strategies used by translators in order to conqure their translation problems.

Many theoreticians have identified many translation problems including satires but none have discussed about translating them. Leonard states that "totally there is not much literature that deals specifically with translating satire. This might be caused by the fact that many people interpret satire in the sense of satire as genre, in which the whole text has to be satirical and strict genre conventions need to be followed".(Leonard, 1972, p.124 )."This is an outdated type of satire, which was quite prominent in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, but is barely employed in recent times. However, there is also another type of satire, satire as mode, in which the work only contains a passage that is satirical.
