Most who witnessed the sitting president of these United States, sing the spiritual hymn Amazing Grace at Mother Emanuel AME church in Charleston, SC, during his eulogy of falling spiritual warrior Rev. Clemmenta Picknecly would probably agree that it was overwhelming. It appeared to stir a feeling of connectively to all who sang along. Including, it is surmised, those around the world that identified with the words, reason and necessity for such a song at that moment in time. How ironic to sing a song, which was penned by a former white slaveholder, who turned abolitionist. And sing it in the state that was the lynchpin of the civil war.…
Orientation Identification: The terms “Hispanic” and “Latina/o” are normally interchangeable, even though most governmental and scholarly documents have a preference for the use of “Hispanic”, while religious affiliations and grassroots incline to the latter one[ Suzanne Oboler, Ethnic Labels, Latino Lives: Identity and the Politics of (Re)Presentation in the United States (Minneapolis: University of Minnesota Press, 1995), 3.]. In the past decades, those terms have come into general use in the United States to refer to all the people whose ancestry is predominantly from one or more Spanish-speaking areas, including most of the countries of South America, the Caribbean area, and Mexico[ Suzanne Oboler, Ethnic Labels, Latino Lives: Identity…
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us (blueletterbible.org).” The apostle Paul wrote these words in Romans 8:18 (KJV), words that apply to the present state of the Black Church. However, as stated in the aforementioned scripture, the suffering endured by African-Americans will not compare to the magnificence that will be brought out in us.…

The fourth and final mark is apostolicity; the church is the same as that of the apostles. The church’s value rests on what God does, not on what people do; Donatist believed the opposite of this to be true. The next big conclusion made is that Christian faith and church are missionary in behavior. The chapter concludes by discussing sacraments, special gifts from God that are visible signs of spiritual grace. Sacramental life in the church is key to the goodness of sacred…

One such denomination is the Assemblies of God. This denomination will be the focus.…

Introduction The concept of “church” was started as the tabanacle where the Ark of Covenent was placed (Old Testament). Then it was transferred into the “Temple building” where people experienced God’s presence. When Jesus came to dwell among people, He was the Temple instead of the building. He confirmed it; “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days” (John 2:19 NIV).…
