The Role Of Mary Warren In The Crucible

Some characters in The Crucible stay the same, but a few of them change. One dynamic character who undergoes some sort of change from the beginning of the play to the end is Mary Warren. In fact her change is one of the biggest changes in the whole play. It is one that causes a drastic fall at the end for a couple of characters.
So now it’s time to discuss the big change Mary Warren undergoes. At the beginning/middle of the play Mary Warren told John Proctor that the whole witchcraft thing was made up. That they were just trying to cover up for them being caught dancing in the woods. That all changes rather quickly. That is when they go to the court.
