There are many qualities to a hero. Most heroes usually do some sort of selfless act to help or save another person. There can also be everyday heroes. These people do small but important acts for others. In the novel Hunger Games, I think that Katniss Everdeen is definitely a hero for many reasons. Throughout her time in the Hunger Games, she does many brave things to help her friends. She could have died multiple times, but she risked her life in many instances. First of all, Katniss was an hero at her house in District 12, Panem. Her father died when she was very young, and she was forced to take care of her younger sister Prim and her mother. She hunted for them, earned money for the family, and provided them with food and other things to live off of. She snuck into the woods everyday with her friend Gale, and they used many different weapons to provide for their families. She sold some of the items she killed, and that is how she bought other things. She saved her family from starving to death, and I think that shows a true hero. …show more content…

This shows a true hero because she risked her life here her younger sister. When Katniss was in the Hunger Games, she was a hero in many instances. First of all, she saved Peta’s life. Peta was another tribute from District 12. Katniss found Peta in rocks after he was stabbed. She nursed him back to heath, and she hunted her him.
