Jackie Robinson was the man who broke the color blockade in Major League Baseball. He was a multi sport athlete during his college years at UCLA. He participated in four sports in college which proved his amazing athletic ability, which led to his offer from the Kansas City Monarchs to play in the Negro Baseball League. Robinson also served in the military prior to his time in Major League Baseball. After playing for the Monarchs Robinson was sent to play for the Montreal Royals. The Royals were the farm club for the Brooklyn Dodgers. After playing for the Royals he was brought up to the Dodgers main roster shortly before the beginning of the 1947 baseball season.
