Things such as wages, salary, work environment, and employee relationships can make or break a business. Something as simple as a petty insult could drastically change an employees attitude towards a company. While these may only be small spokes in the gears of businesses and corporations, they are still important and should be addressed. Thankfully someone has already put forth the effort to organize a list of needs and assign them to their proper place. This is known as Maslows Hierarchy. These needs include the want for love and companionship. How would one go about satisfying these? One of the simplest answers to this is make friends at work. Friendship in the work place not only allows for a better, more comfortable work environment, but it also could increase efficiency between co-workers. Throwing parties for special holidays is another way to fulfill social needs. Whether it’s at the workplace itself or in a neutral location, inviting co-workers to celebrate with you can build friendships and respect. You could also start or join a club. Depending on the club it could be a daily, weekly, or even monthly event. Car meets are a prime example of this. They usually take place weekly in the same area and depending on the club and if they have permission from law enforcement, some racing might even come into play. It’s an all-around good time for any car enthusiast or even someone who loves to

In 1975 on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, there were ongoing tensions between two groups, GOONS and AIM (American Indian Movement), where GOONS were hired by a tribal chairman to get rid of AIM. GOONS were often helped by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) by giving them information about AIM and turning a blind eye to the large amount of crimes GOONS was committing. A family asked Leonard Peltier, an Aim leader, to protect them from targeted violence so a group of AIM followers settled at the family’s house. From here, two FBI agents followed a car to the house, shots were heard, and a shootout began, resulting in the death of those agents and a Native American. The Native Americans initial reaction of fear to unfamiliar cars driven by the two FBI agents was probably a conditioned response by the fact that GOONs could have previously surprise attacked and the Natives were unprepared.…

In the movie “Coach Cater”, I was able to identify many factors that relate to Maslow theory. The reason would be because players like Timo, Worm and Kenyon did have their physiological needs “air, food, drink, shelter “(Mc Leod, 2017), but even though they had their first stage, they lacked the other four other stages such as, “safety needs, love and belonging, esteem needs, and self-actualization” (Mc Leod, 2017). For example, Timo lacked all four other stages, which made him start hanging out with gangs and dealing drug. I believe the character that had all the other four stages would be the Damien. The reason that I state this would be because Damien did not have any problems with his social or personal life throughout the movie.…

In America, working at the minimum wage is also a sure guarantee that you are a part of the minority working class. The minimum wage has at different times been a common practice in certain parts of the world for centuries, it wasn’t however until 1938 that the Fair Labor Act was passed in America, establishing a minimum wage in the American workforce. Because of inflation, the minimum wage today is worth a few dollars less than before. Many politicians agree that we should raise minimum wage. Bernie sanders for example said “Nobody who works 40 hours a week should be living in poverty, a job should lift workers out of poverty, not keep them in it.”…
