Data wrangling is the process of physically converting data sets from one form to another. The role of a data wrangler on a film set is to make sure that what gets recorded on the camera gets to the editor with no corruption. The wrangler makes it easy for the editor to access/analyse the footage with no difficulties.
The wrangler is not only responsible for simplifying/converting data sets from one form to another, his/her job can also include; organising, reformatting, downloading, duplicating and labelling the digital disks for use on set and in the editing room.
