What interested me in chapter six was the small section on how neuroscience applies to our world, which discussed concussions. This school year in my Anatomy and Physiology class, my classmate and I traveled to KU Medical Center in Kansas City to compete at the state Night @ the Lab Competition. The overall topic was Orthopedic Medicine but our specific topic was concussions. In the article it stated that over an 11-year period, there was 2,651 concussion which means that there was roughly 7-8 concussions per year. It may seem like a lot, but after going around to the individuals in my school, 7-12th grade, there were 13 clinically diagnosed concussions.
