The definition of citizenship is, “the status of being a citizen, along with the rights, duties and privileges of being a citizen”. In the United States, one of these duties is to participate in the political process. This includes, voting, holding office, and influencing government.
Today I am asking you—no, I am imploring you—to participate in the political process in a specific way. First, a little background.
By law, an Illinois budget for the fiscal year 2016 should have been passed no later than July 1, 2015; however, we are now in February and still have no 2016 budget.
