Throughout the world, there are different types of censorship whether that be through government and social media. What is censorship, well, censorship is the control of what people may say, hear, write, read, see, or do? So how would you feel if what you were able to view and see on the internet including news could possibly be fake? Well, that is a reality in China, not only do they censor the news and anything that goes against the communist party, but they also censor books and social media. Should this be allowed? Not only are websites blocked but some books have also been forbidden in China, For example the beloved children's book Green Eggs and Ham, the book by Dr. Seuss was banned in Maoist China because of its "portrayal of early Marxism," and the ban was not lifted until author Theodor Seuss Geisel's death in 1991. Book censorship is widespread in China. Enforcement of book ban is extremely strict and every now and again inconsistent. The punishment for violating the book ban can ultimately result in prison. The communist government is extremely sensitive to any opinions on the politics and history of China that do not match their own. The Chinese leaders say that sanctioned opinions or discussed topics that are officially forbidden can change over time.
In conclusion censorship in not just china but around the globe can very from blocking news stories or even books that go against certain religions and viewpoints but is there an extent when it gets to carried away. Thats for you to decide, who knows are you being censored by your loved ones or even your government, Do you actual know the whole truth of what's going on in your society or are there some questionable things that need to be answered so go out and discover for yourself what could be hidden from
