The Role Of Auggie In Wonder

Auggie from “ Wonder” seemed to have some ups and downs while going to beecher prep. Yet I believe that most things were in a more positive direction when it comes to how it ended. Auggie seemed to be more happy than sad near the end, which gave me the idea that Auggie wasn’t really having a problem going to Beecher prep at all.

Auggie is first shown to a few other kids who already go to the school. Charlotte, Julian, and Jack. they all seem nice at first, but they seem to avoid him.”Julian moved out of the way quickly, like he was afraid I might accidently”.(p.25) It’s a bit negative , but that is the only person who really is negative at first glance, and he stays that way throughout the entire book.

Then, auggie meets summer.”hey is this

Like most likable, the character flaws that Nobody demonstrates are the negative aspects of his positive character traits. For instance, his inquisitive and adventurous nature leads him to be reckless at times, and this results in several conflicts that arise throughout the novel, including the near exposure of his supernatural ties and potential death. He learns from those mistakes, however, and his character develops smoothly from chapter to chapter to chapter until he becomes an admiral young man. Neil Gaiman does an excellent job of forging as a character who feels like a real person and is so relatable despite his fantastical surroundings in keeping with the magical realism of the…
