Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is known as a disorder that is misdiagnosed just to put hyper or difficult kids on medication. ADHD has a wide range of symptoms which everyone at some point will display. Everyone can display symptoms of ADHD but that does not mean that everyone struggles with the symptoms like those with ADHD. ADHD is the most common disorder among children. ADHD does not only effect children. ADHD can carry into adulthood. I struggle everyday due to ADHD. Life gets hectic and frustrating due to having ADHD. ADHD makes doing everyday activities hard and its difficult because those with ADHD have no control over what is happening to them. Science has proven that it is due to the brain, ADHD children struggle way more than the average, and it carries into adulthood. …show more content…
Studies show that brain chemicals, called neurotransmitters, do not operate the same as those who do not have ADHD than those who do have ADHD. The brain chemical dopamine plays a role. It carries signals between nerves in the brain and is linked to movement, mood, sleep, attention, and learning. Those with ADHD have higher dopamine levels than those who don’t have ADHD. ADHD runs in families. ADHD is highly heritable. Twenty-five percent of children with ADHD have a parent with ADHD, and 30 percent have a brother or sister with ADHD. (Brown).
