The robotic lawn mower is very exciting products that can facilitate the lives of thousands. In marketing you must create value for the consumer and in this case the robotic lawn mower can have a lot of benefits for the consumer. As an entrepreneur, I feel like there are three sectors in the market where the robotic lawnmower will work in tandem with the segmented population. The 4 market segments are people age 50 and above, young homeowners with no children, families with extremely high income, and homeowners that live in hot climates. There are characteristics in all of these markets that are valuable for the robotic lawn mower while also adding values to the specific target markets. The robotic lawn mowers main function is to cut grass with minimal effort for the customer. This will add tremendous value to the elderly, as they are physically incapable of performing the task of cutting grass. The elderly are in a life cycle stage that is very attractive for the robotic lawn mower. Most of the people 55 and older own full size house that need to be maintained every so often and as these people age, they will be unable to keep up with the tasks of maintaining a house. That is why the robotic lawn mower can add such value and be successful in this market. In addition, the market of the elderly is very attractive as the elderly hold a tremendous amount of the nation’s income. This means that they will be able to afford the price tag on such an advanced piece of technology while seeing dividends when it comes to how much value is added to their life. Furthermore, the usage rate of a robotic lawnmower will be higher among the elderly. This is because they spend a lot of time at home and want their home to be adequately maintained.
