In April 1775, tensions were high the American Colonist and the British leaders were on the verge of war. For instance, Paul Revere made his famous midnight ride to warn two leaders of the Patriots John Hancock and Samuel Adams that the British could arrest them any time. Soon after, Adams and Hancock took cover and hid in Lexington, about ten miles Boston. While hiding Adams and Hancock were reading to pounce like a cat on the British. Both men had artillery and were ready just as Revere had told them to be. At about ten AM, Revere went to the Charles River where a boat was waiting for him. Next, a couple rowers took him across the fast flowing Charles River as if they had a motor boat. A couple hours later, Revere's friends in Charlestown
