McCarthyism is about making a society conform to the leaders beliefs. According to History.com, Senator Joseph P. McCarthy was concerned about citizen loyalty to the government. The Republican created a new committee called The Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). The goal of this committee was to protect the United States from changing. The Salam Witch Trials is a huge example of McCarthyism because the witch trial accused girls and woman of strange witch-like activity that was normal at that time. The Salam Witch trials started in 1682. It all started when someone was accused of Witchcraft. Back then everyone was required to go to church every Sunday and express their love for god daily but when people starting believing in another
