I was very put off by the one ad in the compilation that had the little girl doing all sorts of domestic activities in her play house and talking about her growing her dreams there. To act as if this little girl’s dream in life was limited to doing laundry and decorating a house made me feel quite bitter because there was probably a commercial for a little boy’s chemistry play set right after. The other big issue with the media is the image portrayal of women and men alike. We see photoshoot and movies featuring perfectly attractive people and we wish we looked like these celebrities and models. The problem is they are not real. The video of the model being edited was astonishing. The amount of editing before and after the picture was taken was incredibly disturbing and sad because the woman was pretty in her natural state. These images wreak havoc on the self-esteem and body image of young impressionable girls who do not understand the image they have for themselves in their minds is unattainable. And the same goes for boys as well and this was also brought up in the portrayal of the heroes of Disney
