The Right Passage

Somedays I feel nervous whenever I do something in front of a full audience. A year ago, my dad decided to tell me on that day that I have to do bible reading in front of the whole church. I first started yelling at my dad for telling me at the last minute. I was so nervous that my hands became sweaty and I was biting my lips. As I got closer to reading the bible portions, my legs started shaking. I was trying to look calm, but my stomach was inside out. As I was approached the podium, I saw thousands of people staring at me. My heart was pounding so loud I worried that the people in the audience could hear it. I looked up as I read the passage to see my dad giving me a confused look. What was I doing wrong? Why was he looking at me like that ? I just continued reading. “ The bible portion is from Luke, not John!” said Andrea. My face turned as red as a tomato.
“What!!!” I said. I felt so mad I began stomping my feet so loud people from my church turned to look. I felt like this was the worst day ever. I wish I could start this day over. After the church service, my dad came up to me and apologized. He said it was his fault and told me that I read well even though the bible passage was wrong. derIt made me feel better even though I read the wrong passage.
