The Resurrection Of Jesus Research Paper

In recent years I have undergone a spiritual awakening, which has brought me into a closer connection to the Holy Trinity that lives in all of us. I now believe that it is the destiny of every member of humanity to grow in spiritual consciousness until we have all reached full Christ-consciousness. I believe that it is the destiny of every human being to follow Jesus through His resurrection and ascension. And I believe that Jesus wants to talk to all of us about this, to help and guide us. As Jesus has stated, and as it is recorded in the Bible, “…I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:20, KJV).

In this essay, I will be contrasting the Resurrection Man from the ‘Mysteries of London’ with the real life bodysnatchers of Burke and Hare, two Irish men who carried out a series of murders over 10 months in Edinburgh in the 1820’s. Burke and Hare are probably the most famous of the real life bodysnatchers from the Victorian era. Like the Resurrection Man, the two used ‘burking’, the process of killing someone ’quietly or indirectly’ and in a manner so as to cause as little as possible visible damage to the bodies, so they could be provided to doctors for medical use.(Merriam Webster Dictionary) Burking was often done using suffocation as it left the least damage to the body and made it seem as if the person died of natural causes. Body snatching…

The conflict between the Christians and the Jesus Seminar has been an ongoing struggle since 1985. The Jesus Seminar, founded by Robert Funk, originated in 1985 as around 70 biblical scholars set out to determine the legitimacy of Jesus’ sayings (Dart). The Seminar focused on the historicity of Jesus using the best methods of science and literary criticism as it pertains to the Bible. Funk believed that the gospel writers had made Jesus into a “larger than life” figure in order to satisfy their religious desires. The Jesus Seminar’s goal is to rid the historical figure of Jesus from “Christian legend and myth” and to find out who Jesus really was and what he really said (Craig).…

Due to my working hours, l can’t be there when my son’s come home from school, so my wife will have them call me at work shortly after they arrive. When my son’s and I converse generally we talk about the events of their day. recently my oldest son (13) calls and tells me of a bully who has called him names and my son is asking what he should do, how should he respond? It was during this conversation that the words of Jesus from John 15 ran through my mind: 18 “If the world hates you, [e]you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.…

Jalen Booker Instructor Benjamin Sorenson, MA Western Civilization 10 November 2017 Misconceptions Behind the Methodology of Roman Crucifixions: The Brutal Truth For centuries and centuries on end now, mankind has come to recognize crucifixion as one of the most vulgar, and brutal forms of execution that the world has ever known. Whenever we think of the numerous iconic figures who met their fates on the cross (including St. Peter the Apostle, St. Andrew the Apostle, and even Jesus Christ of Nazareth), we instantly begin to visualize the gruesome torture that they were set to endure. However, I am still convinced that many do not fully understand the extent of pain, and suffering that the cross distributed upon its victims.…

The Bible verse that truly touches me about Jesus’s character can be found in the book of Revelation, which stated “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” Revelation 3:20 (NKJV). My role in this is to simply answer the calling of Jesus, for it is apparent He wants to be a part of my…

IV. The Call for the Reconsideration of the Historicity of the Bodily Nature of Jesus’s Resurrection and Its Eschatological Implications Thus, I now turn to the matter of the historical credibility of Jesus’ “bodily resurrection” and its eschatological implications. Unlike Peacocke and Keller’s view of the bodily resurrection of Jesus, it is “credible” or “well-motivated belief” that the resurrection of Jesus was a “bodily” event that happened to Jesus based on the two traditions of many eyewitnesses and Jesus’ empty tomb. On the basis of these traditions, according to N.T. Wright, the early Christians understood the resurrection neither Jesus’ “perceived status in the ongoing church”, nor his “heavenly and exalted status”, nor “the passage of the human Jesus into the power of God”, but affirmed his “bodily resurrection.”…

The story of the Crucifixion of Jesus is found in the New Testament. A bible scripture passage I liked is found in the book of Matthew 27:32-56. In the bible I learned that some Jewish leaders didn’t like Jesus because he condemned their sins. Jesus preached the truth, The Jewish people did not want to believe him. Jesus had great crowds of people who followed and believed him, the Jewish became jealous of Jesus and decide to kill him.…

There is plenty of evidence in the Bible of Jesus' nature as both fully human and fully divine. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, Jesus is confirmed to be human because of his display of human emotions, his human birth and death and also his human needs and form. Jesus is confirmed to be divine because of his title of Lord and the fact that he is the son of God. His conception within the Virgin Mary also confirmed his divinity. The Nicene Creed also mentions Jesus as the son of God and as Lord, confirming his divinity.…

Jesus, the Son, is one of the three parts that make up the trinity. He is the son of God who became human and was sent to Earth to save us. God sent Jesus so that we would be lead to live more faithful and meaningful lives. By becoming human, Jesus was able to experience some of the daily sinning that people commit. This means that Jesus got a personal and close look at humans and their sinfulness.…

In this essay, I will be talking about what I believe to be true from what Jesus tells us in the Bible, about being the Son of God and how He was here to die on the cross for our sins, showing everyone who He was and who ever believe in Him is save, or healed if they were sick. In this paper, I will be talking about the trustworthiness and historicity of the Gospels. The historical reliability of the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ miracles, and did Jesus claim to be God. Did his disciples believe he was God? The accuracy of the resurrection accounts in the Gospels, that is, did Jesus rise bodily from the dead?…
