The Resilience of Anne Frank Anne Frank is resilient, even though she goes hard times. Anne goes through hard times with a smile. In the “Diary of Anne Frank”, Act One, scene five, the Franks, the Van Daans, and Mr. Dussel are celebrating Hanukkah. Mrs. Frank advised, “We are all here, alive. That is present enough” Anne then said, “No it isn’t. I’ve got something” Mrs. Franks asked, “What is it?” Anne then exclaims, “Presents!”(379-380). When everyone believed that there wouldn’t be any presents this year, Anne surprised them with presents. This shows how she keeps people’s spirits high in the most unexpected ways.
