A study was conducted by a set of researchers to identify what the characteristics for an effective interprofessional teams are. The study proposes ten characteristics that support effective interdisciplinary teamwork. The first characteristic identified was positive leadership and management attributes. This means that the team identifies a leader who establishes a clear direction and management This leader should have a clear vision for the team while still listening and providing support and supervision to the team members.
