September 11, 2001 is say that has reserved its place in the history books as one of the largest terrorist attacks on the United States. It has changed people’s lives, emotionally, physically and financially. Some people do not remember what it was like before 9/11, but a lot of people remember exactly what it was like. They want it to go back to the way that it was before. People’s lives have changed because people do not understand what the religion of Islam is about. Islam is a religion of tranquility. Muslims (the followers of Islam) believe in one god who goes by the name of Allah, which translates to God. The holy book of Islam is the Qur’an, consisting of 30 sections with 114 subsections. Muslims who want to be the next Prophet have assumed that they need to make a difference in today’s society, but in the process, they are formulating ideas that the religion must change or that they must enforce the religion more strictly. These people are known as radicals, or people who radicalize a concept into their own words and persuade people to join their “rebellion” in changing the overall religion into what they want the community to believe. They will do whatever it takes to gain followers, but on September 11, 2001, these radicals took it too far and tarnished the respect that the Muslims had in this country. They destroyed their reputation and from then on, nothing has been the same. During school, students are being bullied, called names and sometimes even going to the extreme of actual physical harassment. Counselors are in need, and that is exactly what is being put into place. Counselors are being taught the culture and the actual religion so that they can help the Muslim children stand up and defend what they believe in and what they think is
