Philps it shows a counter claim that religion and state is not always separated. In the case the court called father Kohlmann to identify the criminal in court. According to law when a person must be in court they must tell the truth. Yet father Kohlmann felt that he couldn’t tell the truth because the thief decided to confession. Kohlmann felt he did not have the right to reveal the thief identity because he would be going against the church laws. The judge decided to support the father Kohlmann because he saw himself as Kohlmann. The judge decided not to punish the father because he felt that he was the man. It shows that government officials are not separating themselves from the state laws from the church.
I am person who does more open to the idea of how there should be a strong set of guidelines that there should be a separation of Church and State. I agree with the U.S government that they shouldn’t favor one religion with another. They should follow all the laws they set in place and be fair when giving a certain type of judgment to all court cases. The government officials should try to keep religion out of laws that are being placed in the country. The reason I believe this because the constitution wrote that there should be serration of church and state. There is reason why
