Miller begins with, Elizabeth loses her faith in proctor because she knows about the affair proctor had with Abigail. proctor tells Elizabeth"I'll not have your suspicion any more". Proctor doesn't want for Elizabeth to be suspicious about him. He wants her to believe that nothing happened between him and Abigail. Elizabeth wants for proctor to tell the truth, she believes that proctor is still seeing Abigail. Elizabeth has gone through a lot because of his husband's affair and all the lies proctor has told her.
