Relationship Between Globalization And Organizational Behavior

In this paper, I would compare and contrast two countries, Turkey and U.S.A according to practices of organizational behavior. First of all, I would speak about globalization because globalization has affected organizational behavior. Actually, we speak over fifty years about globalization. What is it globalization and what is the relationship between globalization and organizational behavior? Globalization is the integration of international market and other cultures with the global economy. There is no board and businesses are across the world so that the relationship between cultures, society, politics and business are affected each other. Only this is a great difference to explain why the both countries have dissimilar practices in organizational behavior. The economic situation of the countries motivates the behavior of human being. In the last thirty years, the number of American companies increased in Turkey and we learned some things from American companies. Thereby this has been affected our culture. For example, we are more individualistic than before thirty years that we learned from America, European and other developed …show more content…
The most of leadership positions in Turkey own managers who studied in America or in the other developed countries. Therefore, we have similar practices in leadership and of course, we can see some similar application in organizational behavior. Whereby our religion and region brings differences sometimes. However, the big reason for the similarity is globalization. Because of globalization and free trade are there international companies in all countries. Let me explain, there are American and European companies in Turkey and you cannot apply leadership characteristic of the middle east for these companies. There are several leadership models. The charismatic leadership model was in use in Turkey since 2000 that has changed last fifteen years, because charismatic leadership isn’t effective more alone. Nowadays, the leadership position is more transformational according human being needs. Max Weber explained charismatic leadership that is a certain quality of individual personality and one of several ideal types of authority. On the other hand, the transformational leadership is more effective that we saw and learned from developed countries such as America, Germany and other industrialized countries in the world.
