The Relationship Between Genocide And Terrorism

Improved Essays
The type of mass violence that is being discussed has to do with genocide and terrorism. On a broader scope, a plethora of mass violence is rooted in poverty, injustices, and social and psychological dysfunction. So the question is, are there ways to prevent mass violence? With individuals and terrorist groups inflicting violence on people around the world it seems unstoppable. But research is out there that says it is preventable. Again on a broader scope, people and nations have to make sure that they are not passive bystander to the things that are unfolding that can lead to mass killings. Another point is that it has to be recognized that some individuals have to be identified and reeducated about their misguided ideologies.

While we both had a few different ideas, we both fully agreed on who to blame for each mass killing. When being asking again for the purpose of this paper my dad answered the same question with, “the killer, the killer is always to blame,” (Lehman). I asked my dad if he believed anything could be done to prevent more mass shootings, like Florida, he said that, “stricter punishments need to be enforced for killers,” (Lehman). These stricter punishments may scare of future killers and make them second guess their actions. I followed that question up with wether or not he believed that more could have been done in Florida.…

Public shootings or mass public killings have been an epidemic that our society as a whole has had to deal with since the beginning of time. Throughout all these events one thing has often been the same, they had planned it beforehand before they executed the deed. The solution to this problem is to enforce stronger gun laws and regulations. For example they should put a limit on purchasing guns without a background check to look for any mental instability and a gun ownership license.…
