Credibility is fair and personal elements of belief for a source or information. It is being trusted, proficient and honest. Trust is more of a personal aspect that can make a source reliable. A source is credible if the writer has a good reputation with consistency and validity. A peer-reviewed source is even better because it’s been read and approved of by other credible sources as well. If you are using an online source, which is pretty much 99.9% of the time – it is easy to find information. But is it credible? If If I ever question a source, I use the 5 W’s:
Who is the author? Did I see credentials listed anywhere? Have I heard of the author? If so, consider the reputation.
