Hillary Clinton Rodeeo Analysis

The principal interrupted the slow school day abruptly by her voice beaming through the halls. “All of the class of 2016, please report to the gymnasium NOW!!!” I started rambling with my classmates about the tone of her voice and why we were wanted in the gym. “Excuse me!”, I said as I pushed through the crowd. We sat in the bleachers occasionally glancing at our phones while Mrs. Jones stated, “I am glad to have seen this class improve throughout the years! I want to show you my gratitude by presenting a gift to all of you. Thomas County Central High School hasn’t accomplished this goal since the early 1980’s. The Senior Class of 2016 will have a class portrait!!” We applauded as the photographer was ushered in. Right after the perfect picture was taken Mrs. …show more content…
Hillary Clinton on the economy, I analyzed the article based on the way the information was organized. I had several questions and concerns while reading. Why didn’t the article state how Trump would go about abolishing estate taxes? He doesn’t have a precise answer. Not giving that information provides lack of facts to back the claim. Why weren’t there any people in the article providing credibility? After all, this is his first Rodeo. For Clinton’s ideas on estate taxes, it was hard to follow because of the complicated wording. Could the author break down her plans on a more understandable level? Having her camp talk about the plan would have been helpful. Why is the information listed with bullets instead of organized in paragraphs? I think paragraphs would be easier to follow, if went from Trump’s to Hillary’s ideas. The article lacked logos when needed, which is what the people are interested in. We need details to support the short claims in the article! Of course, I wanted ethos, too but the article only stated claims instead of letting the experts pull on our morals.

A long-standing tradition and measure of academic excellence, the title of valedictorian has been an intense point of contention for high school students in recent decades. In her piece “Best in Class”, author Margaret Talbot considers the consequences of naming valedictorians in the highly competitive environment of today’s schools. Appealing to students and school workers, she assumes an approachable, conversational tone, examining multiple points of view without obvious partiality. Talbot uses numerous interviews, anecdotes, and personal experiences to explain the aggressive contest for valedictorian and the legal disputes that follow. Talbot’s selection of interviews emphasizes the extent of the conflicts and the sentiments that contribute…

Republican Nomination. In 1980, Reagan entered the Republican nomination battle with support from the Republican Party in the polls. At this point Reagan had been in the national political presence for around 16 years and in the movie/film presence for about 30 years before that. “There was some suggestion among journalists that he remained something of an enigmatic figure to the mass public. As Newsweek put it, "at the very hour of his coronation... as the Republican nominee, he remains only hazily known to millions of his countrymen," (Anderson, 1988).…

One of the pillars of National Honors Society is that of leadership. Members are expected to direct and motivate their peers. I believe I exemplify leadership skills through my position as a manager of the yearbook. I am extremely passionate about creating Yorktown’s yearbook, which is why I was thrilled to be given such a great responsibility this year. The task takes plenty of time and effort, however, my dedication to the class makes it all worthwhile.…

Governor’s School Last summer, I attended governor's school west where three hundred and twenty-five bright and open-minded students from all across North Carolina gathered for five and a half weeks in a college campus setting. To me, this was a big milestone in life that changed me for the better. We left our cozy lives of families and friends to start with a clean slate with strangers we’ve never seen in our lives. At first, we thought of it as a sacrifice of our summer to glamorize our college application, but throughout the program we experienced things that exceeded beyond our expectations.…

People come together for many different reasons. In the days since my Uncle Ricky got hurt on his motorcycle and found out he had cancer people have really come together and been there for him. People have gathered together and thrown him a “Celebration of Life” party that over 150 people came together to celebrate. My Uncle Ricky was a truck driver so we brought in the trucks and blew the horn for him one last time. Just like in the movie Freedom Writers, how the black people came together with the Mexicans and Cambodian people and had parties.…

Choosing a valedictorian is a tradition in American high schools as it creates a sense of pride in the students who earn the title, but is it always a good thing? In “Best in Class” by Margaret Talbot, she creates a message that the issue of valedictorian isn’t necessarily a bad one, but it can be modified to become a more pleasurable tradition as it creates an unhappiness in a certain group of people rather than giving satisfaction to everyone as a whole. Talbot applies an appeal to logos as well as anecdotes of the experiences of other students in order to portray her message to the audience. Although Talbot doesn’t explicitly state her claim, it can be inferred through her use of logos that she does not support the traditional way of choosing…

At the corner of Walker St. and Crescent St., across the road from Walker Jr. High School, passed La Palma Hospital, lies the largest campus of Anaheim Union High School District, John F. Kennedy (JFK) High School. From the parking lot into the school, I see Kennedy ’s quote, painted on the edge of the entrance, stating, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” Many other quotes by graduating classes were painted on the edge of the hallway overheads with the year underneath and all meant to inspire people. Tall, lush trees provide shade, protecting me from sunshine and heat of the afternoon sunlight.…

A new journey in my life began on August 13th, 2014 as my school principal cut the red ribbon celebrating the opening of a brand new high school. Little did I know, it would become a journey of growth and unique experiences unlike any before it, further refining and adding to my inner sculpture of identity and talent. I was going to Liberty High School, therefore it was necessary that I adapt--quickly, yet strategically. Throughout my life, I had never imagined that my high school experience would reach and exceed my expectations in the way that it did. I had the unique opportunity most people don’t get in life: to be part of a grassroots movement in establishing a culture that would enrich future students with tradition and values for many years to come.…

Since I wasn't able to visit my eighth graders on our usual schedule (my teaching class had an in-class day to reconnect with each other and learn information for our teaching exam- sad face.) , I felt very happy to go visit my kids today! As I entered Ms. Fentress' room when her AI students were exiting, I realized that these kids are just like high school kids. One boy was jamming out to his music, and even rapped for his classmates. It's always funny to see how their distinct personalities intertwine with one-another to make it a friendly atmosphere.…

In September of 2015, I took a class that I never imagined myself taking; teen leadership. A speech class, taught by my band director and involved a lot of socializing with others, creativity, and on the spot thinking. These things- I was not the greatest at. Unfortunately, reality later dawned on me, and I realized that to become- and be great at being- a physical therapist, I would have to be more social, more approachable by others.…
