First Impressions Research

The way others see you is incredibly important because it determines how successful you will be in your life. If others see you as unapproachable, negative or even depressed, your chance of acquiring a job or making friends is lower than someone’s chance, who is positive, joyful, or satisfied. Other’s perception of you is also critical when it comes to first impressions. Although first impressions are often incorrect, they are often what people remember you by. So when the time comes for an incredibly important job interview, and you radiate the wrong, first impression, your chance of the employer telling you that they would like to hire you is slim. By knowing how others view you, you can make adjustments to your approach, so that your …show more content…
This I find preposterous because the word curious means eager to know or learn something. Ever since I learned how to read and write, I enjoyed learning new things. From learning to speak French to learning to do a one-handed push up to learning how to repair a toilet, my curiosity is what encouraged me to learn new things. This tells me that my peers do not know me as well as thought they do. My curiosity is what makes me who I am. An example that proves my curiosity is when my father was repairing our broken shower. It was not working, and my father began the repair. I asked him if I could help him during this repair, and he agreed. He taught me how to replace the valve, which regulates the water flow, and how to prevent this problem from occurring in the future. If I had not asked to help him, I would not know how to fix a broken shower, but thanks to my curiosity, I do. Another example is when my sister’s car would not start. My father was going to use jumper cables to charge my sister’s car’s battery. I asked him how to use the cables and he said that first you must connect the red clamp to the dead battery. Then, you must connect the other red clamp to the good battery (on the positive). Following this, you must connect the black clamp to the good battery (on the negative), and finally, connect the other black clamp to a ground in the car that will not start. Now you must ignite the …show more content…
I am humorous because I can improve anyone’s mood with the use of humor. I am curious because I am eager to learn new things, and I am helpful because I do not hesitate to help others. My peers and teachers do not see this, but I do. They do not see these characteristics because they do not know me as well as I do. Furthermore, I believe this reflection of how others see me has benefited me because I realized that I do not always possess the characteristics that I think I do. While I might believe that I am being polite, I might actually be rude, which will give off the wrong impression and might offend others. I must learn to control how I act, and make sure that people are familiarized with the real Julian Humecki. What I mean is that I must learn to broadcast every quality that I would like others to know about, so that I make a memorable and likeable, first impression. Also I can adjust my approach so that I can avoid broadcasting my negative attributes (how stubborn or rude I am). By mastering how to broadcast my most endearing qualities, I will be the front-runner for many employment opportunities, and will be a treasured friend for

Dimmesdale was a rather attractive man. “He was a person of very striking aspect, with a white, lofty, and impending brow, large, brown, melancholy eyes…”…
