The Reflection Of The Apostle Creed Essay

The Apostle Creed is a statement in which the western churches, and both Catholic and Protestant recite in a reflection of their Christian belief. The origin of The Apostle’s Creed began far much more earlier as a prior versions of what later became The Apostles Creed, was originally named the “Old Roman Creed” and was used as early as the second century (Moehlman 301). Although stated clearly only in Western churches as it reflects tradition however, it was affirmed officially by the entire church in the Nicene Creed (Moehlman 301). This statement in some views is just part of a ritual and tradition that is planted in someone through the constant attendance of being present in church (Pannenberg 1-2). However, reviewing and reflecting on the the text, my perception of the creed is valued less as a statement but more of a personal decree.
The text states “I believe in God the Father almighty; and in Christ Jesus His only Son, our Lord” What comes to mind is I accept, I admit and I trust that God is the person who is loving and kind but is all powerful, and he sent his only Son Jesus Christ who leads us. Next it states , “Who was born from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, Who under Pontius Pilate was crucified and buried”. My interpretation is the same Jesus Christ who is Lord who leads us, is the same who was born only by the Holy Spirit because Mary was a virgin but was also the one that gave the ultimate sacrifice by dying and being buried for not just me but you…
