Dominating a language requires an individual to read contents of that language, and gradually increase the difficulty level of those contents, by the time he/she starts to analyze everything critically. Undeniably, writing is as important as reading is for this matter. Writing is like a trademark of an individual by which he/she expresses himself/herself to his/her readers. So after understanding the contents of reading material and expressing the contents in terms of writing, an individual feels confident enough to speak to a wider audience on whatever he/she has to say. Finally, the ability to express as well as write empowers an individual to persuade his/her audience and even make things to change. Similarly, I reckon that the nature of an individual plays a big role in his/hers expression. As I mentioned before, I loved writing automotive reviews for my self but that is where my interest as a writer took a halt. Unlike, some of my friends who were going up the ante and expressing themselves via critical writing, I was anything but like that. This trend in me did change however. While preparing for my SAT to get into the colleges, I had to read through critical passages all of which had some message to convey. To me, not every text was striking, but some of them felt more important than just getting every questions correct and getting good scores. In fact, they touched me in a way that I had an instantaneous feeling of a writer growing in me. This feeling got reflected in my SAT essay as I started including thorough point to illustrate my examples. Afterwards, the college application process consumed so much of my time that I barely had remaining time to brush my writing skills to take it to a professional level.
