Personal Narrative: My Leadership Purpose

My leadership purpose is to encourage people into unity and teamwork, and to prevent them from feeling disappointed in case they face a failure which makes them embrace every challenge with hope and motivation. The lessons in the leadership class helped me understand why I have this leadership purpose statement and how I should act to implement my purpose. In other words, the lessons help me understand how I will implement my techniques to achieve my purpose as a leader. Above all, the lesson of “personality” helped me to articulate the purpose statement authentically. There are many reasons why. First of all, this lesson makes me realize that, every person needs the source of motivation to perform better; to figure that out, it is necessary to know each individual in the group to provide the source that fits their personality best. Besides that, I want to give an example from my own life which shows how I learned how to find the necessary motivation. I had some challenges in my life, such as my brain surgery that limited many of my dreams. I was disappointed, and did not know what to do because I was not allowed to service select any exciting communities. Despite that, I had the chance to come to the USNA. Especially in the leadership lessons, motivation in particular, I have learned that I should have always looked at the bright side, too. Instead of just focusing myself on the negative side of any experience, I have a larger point, and I know that finding the motivation has a great impact on a person’s life. The effect of this experience affected my personality, too, which ties back to my first example of personality class. As a youngster, I will remember what happened to me back in the high school, and I will remember that I almost had no chance to succeed; I will make the plebes see the potential inside themselves, by using what the motivation class taught me: motivation has the ability to reveal the whole potential inside every …show more content…
First of all, I am mainly focused on individuals, which makes me interested in being a squad leader for the first time when I have a chance to assume leadership responsibility. In addition, my first class year will be effective because of the development process that I created. I will implement the lessons in youngster year, and with the help of experiences, I will be an effective squad leader in the first class. I will be the person that motivates his unit to perform perfectly, which make them unified in the best way possible. I will use my life story of having a brain surgery to guide others into the same success I achieved. I will be the one that brings together his team as strongly as possible by seeing how hard it is to be in the military, and by seeing what it takes to be in a different
